Detox Week

Well we survived Detox. I lost five pounds and Hans lost eight!!! Of course that wasn't the reason we were doing detox but it sure is a nice benifit. Because I was not able to get my scrapbook stuff I spent a lot of time at Carolyn's reading my detox books. I was so amazed at what I found out. Hans and I decided that over the course of this year we are going to completely change the way we eat. At the end of the year our diet will consist of organic fruits and vegetables, organic grains and seeds, and limited organic meats and dairy products, natural sweetners, and fat. Yes we are becoming organic junky's. I will make all our food from scratch so as to avoid the poison (preservitives) that is in almost all prepackaged foods. I'm really excited about it. I'm looking forward to the challange of finding yummy "healthy" recipies to make.

Hans and I have eaten more veggies in the last two weeks then our 4 1/2 years of married life. I'm considering starting a detox blog. I don't want to uses our family blog as a soap box for nutritian. Although it has become a passion of mine.

Oh yeah, I'm so happy that Hans has decided to give up Pepsi! Or at least he say's he thinks he is. After the week and half of Detox he tried to drink a pepsi and he didn't really care for it.

We vegged out on movies while we were at Carolyn's. We didn't watch as many as I thought we would though. We had some really nice days so the girls enjoyed playing outside too.

The battle of the mind

Wow! The battle in my mind was a bloody one yesturday. It was one of those days that you feel defeated and want to become one with the floor and disapear. I admitt I let the enemy chew me up and spit me out, laughing the whole time. I was much like a spoiled pouting child. I felt like the man of God that sat under the tree and asked God to kill him. Okay, maybe not that bad. But it was a misserable day.

I woke up this morning not feeling any better. But I determind not to allow my feelings to dictate my day. So I typed out a banner of truth. It will be displayed on the wall so I will see it often to remind myself that my feelings are not in control. These are the truths below.

Truth

- God is in control and He will make everything work out according to His will and timing.

- Stressing out only pleases satan.

- I can walk in peace and joy no matter what my circumstances are.

- I am in the midst of a spiritual battle and I can’t afford to take my eyes off of my leader (God) and put them on myself. I must use the Word of God to fight the lies of the enemy.

- God has equipped me with everything I need to succeed.

- God is with me!!

- With God ALL things are possible!

2 peter 1:3 His divine power has given me everything I need for life and godliness through my knowledge of him who called me by his own glory and goodness. 4Through these he has given me his very great and precious promises, so that through them I may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by my evil desires.

Today I choose victory! And my feelings are just going to have to get over it.

I love pictures

If you haven't noticed I love pictures. And I love to scrapbook them. That is what I will be doing for the next week at my Aunt Carolyns. We are packing up and getting ready to housesit for my Aunt Carolyn and uncle Butch. They have graciously opened up their home for us while they are going to be out of town. We went to the library and loaded up on video's. We are going to break all the rules and spend the week "vegging" out on Detox Diet and video's (pun intended). Of course our girls are not participating in the Detox diet but I'm sure they'll watch more video's this next week than they have in 2 months. They will typically watch 2-4 movies a week. This week we're not counting! I'm also planning on going to a craft store to get some things for us to make crafts/projects together. It will be a great week. We're really looking forward to it.

We got the girls pictures taken. The pictures below are the one's we ordered. If you care to see the rest you can go to my photos link. I was only planning on getting Haley's six month old pictures taken and then I realized that Morgan is going to be two next month. And who God only know where in the world we will be then. So I decided if two are dressed for pictures I might as well get a group shot. Although I did go early to Penny's to see if there was anything decent for Elizabeth to wear for the picture. I ended up getting two tops for her. One for $4.77 and one for $1.77! She's growing out of her "suitcase" clothes. I refuse to buy more because we have so many clothes in storage.

If you think of it pray that we would quickly learn whatever leason God want's us to learn so we can move on from this season of our lives. I will gladly kiss the "nomade" lifestyle goodbye.

Bye Bye Binki

To answere your question Jen. I started to on your comments but decided it was a bit long for that.
I think Morgan must have coached Eamon when we were there. That is exactly what Morgan would do in the middle of the night. We put up with it for a few months. It wouldn't happen every night so we decided to go along with her little dependency problem. However, it got quite out of control towards the end. She started having such episodes several times a week at night. It got so bad that she was having them one to three times EVERY night. And then I had a revelation. If the only reason why Morgan is waking up in the middle of the night is because she wants her binki...If we take her binki away forever...then when she wakes up she will just go back to sleep because we've broken the addiction. This was my theory anyway. So one night Hans and I were still up and Morgan had an episode. I told Hans "maybe we should just take her binki away". I hadn't discussed with him my above theory yet. He headed to her room and came back with her binki. The idea sounded great to him because more often then not he would be the one to get up in the middle of the night to retrieve the binki. She right then and there she had to deal with the withdrawal. We cut her off cold turkey! No more binki. She cried at first when we would put her to bed. But it didn't take very long before she was over it. Thank you Jesus no more Binki ron-de-voos in the middle of the night. She was about 16 months old at the time.

Well I went through almost all my pictures of march, editing, cropping, etc. Then Picasa encountered an error...I lost all that I did. Sorry Ijust don't have the patience at this time to redo it. So you get the un-edited version. Click on the photo link and enjoy!
